What Karl 'really' thinks of the Today show after being dumped

Since returning from his luxurious honeymoon, it seems the reality that he won’t be returning as host of Channel Nine’s Today show might have hit Karl Stefanovic hard.

On Thursday the former host – who had been in the role for almost 15 years – hinted at his true feelings towards the network’s choice to dump him, by liking a fan’s scathing comment suggesting it was the wrong decision.

“There’s always three sides to a story, his, hers and somewhere in between… but it’s none of anyone else’s business anyway! I can’t wait until the ratings drop even lower and they realise it wasn’t you that was the problem after all,” the fan’s comment read.

The comment was posted below a festive selfie Karl shared on his Instagram account with his new wife Jasmine Yarbrough, and it seems Karl just so happened to agree with the commenter, showing his appreciation with a ‘like’.

It’s certainly a sign of a very different attitude, when comparing it to his initial statements following the announcement, where said he was happy about the change.

“I suppose, as they say, a change is as good as a holiday, I’m looking forward to getting back to work. I’m moving forward with a sense of excitement about what’s to come,” Karl said in a statement shortly after he landed back in Sydney.

He also gave out plenty of praise to the breakfast show by saying, “For the last 14 years I’ve co-hosted the best show on television”.

“I can’t thank Nine enough for the opportunity. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be good enough to host this grand show for so long.

“Thanks to our viewers mostly, you are what matters most. It’s been a tough time. Thanks for hanging in there. I look forward to seeing you in another capacity at this great Network soon.”

Since liking the comment, Karl has shared another photo of himself and wife Jasmine heading off on a road trip.

“Road trip with the Whānau,” he captioned the image.

Whānau is a Māori word for extended family.
