Kaley Cuoco Revealed Whether She'd Join 'The Big Bang Theory' Spinoff
When The Big Bang Theory ended its 12-season run back in 2019, it seemed like this would be the last time we'd see Kaley Cuoco on TV as the well-loved Penny Hofstadter. Well, it looks like she has some ideas about stepping back into her iconic role, and she's opening up about it.
When speaking with People on October 19, the actress was asked about the upcoming The Big Bang Theory spinoff. Given the recent news of Kevin Sussman, Brian Posehn and Lauren Lapkus reprising their roles as Stuart Bloom, Bert Kibbler and Stuart's girlfriend Denise, it only makes sense for Kaley to be approached about if she'd ever step back into Penny's shoes.
"I spent 12 years playing that role, and it really set off my career. I owe a lot to that character, to that show, to [creator] Chuck Lorre," she shared about her time on The Big Bang Theory. "It was some of the best years of my life, and some of the most fun I've ever had... I would absolutely reprise that role."
Now, that is something we'd absolutely love to see! As longtime viewers know, Penny came from Nebraska to California to try and make it as an actress. While she worked a number of jobs throughout the show, she eventually became a pharmaceutical sales rep and would later marry Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) after an on-and-off relationship. Penny would also develop strong relationships with Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) and Bernadette Wolowitz (Melissa Rauch), making them the ultimate female trio on The Big Bang Theory.
Even though nothing is confirmed about Kaley reprising her role, we do know she is very busy these days. Along with being a mom to daughter Matilda (whom she shares with fiancé Tom Pelphrey), she's gearing up for the season 2 premiere of her Peacock sitcom Based on a True Story, out November 21.
Still, could someone please find a way to get Kaley on The Big Bang Theory spinoff ASAP?
