Kailyn Lowry Shares How She Came Up with the Names Verse and Valley for Her Twins: 'Not Too Weird'
The mom of seven got some help from one of her kiddos with picking the boy twin's name
Kailyn Lowry is opening up about how she picked her twins' names.
When asked how to pronounce each of their names on TikTok, the mom of seven, 31, opened up about how she came to each decision. Son Verse's name stemmed from a suggestion from Lowry's 10-year-old son Lincoln, whom she shares with ex Javi Marroquin.
"Verse came from Iverson, which is the name that Lincoln recommended. Obviously, it would be on his list because he's a huge basketball fan," she explained.
"For Valley, I moved when I was a kid to the Lehigh Valley — and I know everyone who lives in the Lehigh Valley is going to be like 'Oh no, this is not where she's going.' It is."
Lowry continued, "The Lehigh Valley really shaped a big part of who I am and it's a huge part of why I am where I am today, and so I really liked Valley. I feel like it's not super different. It's still a name you can grow with. It's not too weird. But now we have Isaac, Lincoln, Lux, Creed, Rio, Verse and Valley."

While picking V names was "not intentional," she did laugh at the fact that oldest Isaac has only two sisters — referring to Jo and Vee Rivera's daughter, Velisse — and both have names that start with V.
As far as nicknames go, Lowry said there are "no nicknames that I like for Valley."
"I really don't like the nickname Val. If she wants to go by Val when she's older, that'll be her choice, but I like that it's just Valley and there's no nickname for it."
In a previous episode of her podcast Barely Famous, Lowry touched on how difficult it was to manage the time in the NICU with the rest of her children at home. Lowry and boyfriend Elijah Scott share the twins and son Rio, 15 months. In addition to her three children with Scott and her two older boys, Lowry also shares Creed, 3½, and Lux, 6½, with ex Chris Lopez.
"For me, it was you couldn't be there with me in the NICU when I went," she told Scott, referring to the fact that they'd take turns, with one visiting the hospital while the other handled the other six children.
"She was away from her twin; we were away from her. When we were home, we still couldn't process it because there was so much going on here. Lincoln still had his basketball games and practices. Isaac still had his after-school stuff. Lux still had what he was doing," she continued.
After some time, the couple were elated to be able to bring their baby girl home, though Lowry's worries didn't exactly end there.
"I think that there's a big difference between the twins in terms of, because she was in the NICU by herself for so long, for so many weeks, and he was home, she's more okay by herself ... whereas we were home with him and someone was always with him, holding him and all of that. Now that she's home, I feel like my bonding experience has been so much better."
