Jonathan Majors' ex-girlfriend drops defamation and assault lawsuit

Grace Jabbari filed the lawsuit against the Marvel actor in March.

Jonathan Majors and ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari have agreed to put their legal battles behind them.

In a stipulation of dismissal filed in New York on Thursday, the duo have asked a judge to dismiss the defamation and assault lawsuit filed by Jabbari with prejudice, meaning she cannot file another lawsuit on the matter. A reason was not given in the filing reviewed by Entertainment Weekly.

"Grace Jabbari has exhibited tremendous courage throughout this very long and difficult process," said her attorney Brittany Henderson in a statement to EW. "As a result of her commitment to justice, the lawsuit that she filed against Jonathan Majors has been favorably settled. We hope that she can finally put this chapter behind her and move forward with her head held high."

Jabbari, an actor and dancer, filed the lawsuit against the Marvel star in March, accusing him of assault, battery, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress. The allegations stemmed from a domestic dispute in New York a year prior, in which Majors was arrested on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

A split verdict ultimately found Majors — who has maintained his innocence throughout the entire ordeal — guilty of one count of assault and one count of harassment. He was sentenced to probation and no jail time. Majors was also ordered to complete a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program and mental health therapy.

The Lovecraft Country actor, considered a rising star in Hollywood at the time of his arrest, was dropped by his talent manager and publicist in the wake of his arrest. He also parted ways with several high-profile projects, including multiple Marvel movies initially set to prominently feature his Ant-Man villain Kang the Conquerer.

Majors is, however, charting a comeback with the upcoming revenge thriller Merciless from director Martin Villeneuve. He's also recently-engaged to actress and model Meagan Good, whom he began dating in 2023 amid his legal troubles.
