Jon Voight Sends a Plea to Brad Pitt Over Angelina Jolie Drama

While Jon Voight and his daughter, Angelina Jolie, have been famously estranged over the years, the 85-year-old actor is now speaking out on her behalf.

In an interview with Fox News Digital on Friday, Aug. 23, Voight said he wishes Jolie's ongoing divorce struggles with Brad Pitt "would be over."

“It’s tough. I wish they found a way to make peace," the Midnight Cowboy star said.

“I think that the kids need some stability,” Voight continued. “I love the kids and I love my daughter, and I want Brad to step up, too, [and do] what he has to do [and] end this nonsense.”

After two years of marriage, Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 following an altercation on a plane during which Pitt allegedly became physical. Jolie was granted sole physical custody of her minor children in 2022. The couple share six kids: Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, Pax, 20, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

Pitt and Jolie have been involved in a legal battle over their French winery, Château Miraval. In 2021, Jolie sold her stake in the company, prompting Pitt to sue her for breach of contract.

Earlier this month, Shiloh legally dropped the "Pitt" from her last name after her request to do so was granted by the court. Shiloh's siblings, Zahara and Vivienne, also seem to have stopped using "Pitt" as a last name, with Zahara introducing herself as "Zahara Marley Jolie" during a sorority ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga., and Vivienne having her name written as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for the Broadway play The Outsiders, which she worked on with her mom.
