JoJo Siwa Opens Up About Her Love Life: 'I Got a Word for It — Messy' (Exclusive)
The star opened up about dating while chatting with PEOPLE exclusively at the 2024 GLAAD Awards
JoJo Siwa’s love life apparently isn’t without drama.
The singer, 20, briefly spoke about dating while chatting with PEOPLE at the 2024 GLAAD Awards in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday.
When asked if she’s currently seeing anyone, Siwa quipped, “Actually, I'm sure you wouldn't like to know, but I'm sure you would like to know.”
She added, “I got a good word for it — messy,” then admitting, “I’m messy.”
The dancer previously told PEOPLE in November 2023 that she’s not sure if she’s ready to get serious with anyone.
“Nick said I can be an idiot with love until I’m 21, so I’ve got six more months,” Siwa said of advice she received from her Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test costar, Nick Viall.
Fellow costar Tyler Cameron added that she should wait even longer — until she’s 28 — before she settles down.
“I’ve got two older brothers here that are going to hold me accountable,” she said of the Bachelorette alums at the time. “And I think between the two of them, one of them is going to hold me accountable and the other’s going to be like, ‘Nah, get your ass out there. Go have fun.’ ”

During her conversation with PEOPLE, Siwa also opened up about growing up in the spotlight after starring in reality shows like Dance Moms and having her own kids-themed YouTube channel.
“It's interesting. I feel like a lot of child stars started as a character, then they grew into an adult as themselves," she said. "Whereas for me, I've always been myself."
"So to make this transition while being true to myself, while being artistic, has been interesting to figure out," she added.
Siwa also noted that she’s proud of the way she’s grown into adulthood. "I think we've nailed it and I think it definitely makes a massive statement. Maybe even too big of a statement, but I think it's going to be a good one," she said.
