Joe Mantegna may have recently marked another year around the sun, but he's also getting nostalgic about his time working on TV for almost two decades.

The Tony Award winner is famous for portraying SSA David Rossi on the Criminal Minds franchise since 2007, and he's currently reprising the role on the reboot Criminal Minds: Evolution. While the Paramount+ show was in the middle of filming its third season, Joe celebrated his 77th birthday on November 13. To mark the occasion, the actor posted a video from set, where the cast and crew brought him a cake and threw him a little party. While standing alongside his daughter Gia (whom he shares with wife Arlene Vrhel), Joe couldn't help but get emotional about how special it's been to be part of a TV family like this.

"You only turn 50 once — something like that!" he jokingly began his speech in a video uploaded on Instagram on November 14. "All I can say is this. I think of this place as being like a ship, and as being #1 on the call sheet, my only goal in life is to keep this [like] The Love Boat. We've all done that together for going on hopefully 19 years. There's no other place besides with my family that I'd rather be then right here. Thank you very much — I love you all."

When fans saw Joe's heartfelt moment reminiscing about working on the Criminal Minds TV franchise, it wasn't long before they got emotional about how long it's been too.

"Awe sweet, we love you!" one person wrote in the comments. "Love this wholesome moment 🥹 Happy Birthday!!" another declared. "Happy Blessed Birthday! No @criminalminds without you Joe! We Love You Forever! 🥰🎁❤️🙏🏽," a different follower added.

We so adore seeing this moment, and it really puts into perspective just how much it means for the cast to be part of this era of TV for so many viewers. Turns out he's not the only one who gets nostalgic about their time on Criminal Minds, as Kirsten Vangsness (who plays BAU technical analyst Penelope Garcia) also shared a moment of appreciation about being on the show on Instagram back in October.

Even though it will be a while before we get to see what happens in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3, we sure love getting these heartfelt behind-the-scenes moments!
