Watch: Joe Lycett mocks government at Commonwealth Games
Joe Lycett couldn't resist having a pop at the government during the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony - and viewers loved it.
The comedian, 34, was one of the hosts at the event, which took place in Birmingham where he was born.
The star, who was dressed in a pink tracksuit covered in frills, was introducing some of the athletes when he made the crack about immigration policy.
“I’m going to do something now that the British government doesn’t always do, and welcome some foreigners – this time from the region of Asia," he said.
"Soz @pritipatel just a bit of banter tehehe," he joked.
Plenty of people watching thought the star's remark was hilarious.
"Bloody love you!" one person posted on Twitter.
Another wrote: "Was the moment of a very special night. Kudos to you."
"Well done Joe Lycett," said another.
"Calling out the Government on major issues at every opportunity is the right thing to do!"

One fan said it was "brave and brilliant", adding: "Well done Joe, you're becoming one of my heroes (and you're in good company)."
However, others said they thought politics should be kept out of sports.
"Wrong platform man, last night wasn’t about politics," said one.
"I was really enjoying the ceremony until your ill timed piece of so called banter."
"I know it was banter, but lets keep politics out of sport please," another person tweeted.
"The ceremony was awesome and a real testimony to all that is great about Britain - simply because there were no politicians involved."
Lycett has been outspoken when it comes to politics.
Earlier this year he tickled fans when he penned his own light-hearted version of Sue Gray’s report into the alleged Downing Street lockdown parties.
