Jonas told the story via a popular TikTok format, which entails creating a slideshow of images of Pepe the King Prawn from The Muppets set to the tune of “Like a Prayer” from the Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack. The trend has taken off in recent weeks, with users telling wild stories of events in their own lives.

In a post shared on Dec. 13, Jonas said that it all started when he and his brothers, who are also his bandmates in the Jonas Brothers, were “filming a video backstage to promote a song while opening for Hannah Montana on tour in Atlantic City.”

He continued, detailing that the premise of the video was to emulate the popular prank series Jackass, so the plan was that he would “pretend to run into a wall in our dressing room.” They were rushing to get the video filmed before their performance, and Jonas didn’t notice that his “shoelace was untied” before he ran “as fast as I could.”

Jonas tripped on his shoelace, and his “head went full force straight into the locker room’s metal grated doors.” Because they were filming a prank video, “everyone laughed thinking this was part of the joke,” not realizing that he had injured himself.

“I grabbed my face and started to gush blood like a faucet. I went directly to the hospital near the venue,” said Jonas. He was “eventually airlifted to New York City and got 67 stitches between my eyebrows.”

Despite the gravity of the situation, Jonas was lighthearted in the final slide of the post, teasing that “luckily, I don’t have a unibrow anymore because of it.”
