Joan Vassos is out here proving that we (read: ABC execs) truly made the right inaugural Golden Bachelorette casting decision after the reality star’s response to Martha Stewart saying her contestants weren’t “hot enough.”

“I DM’d her last night and I said dating is hard out there and I had a great group of guys. She doesn’t know them like I know them,” Joan said during a subsequent October 22 convo with Access Hollywood re: Martha’s comments. “I got to know the inside of them as well as the outside both are wonderful.”

“I guess maybe Martha Stewart didn’t watch or didn’t see what I saw in them. Maybe you have to be in person, I don’t know [...] I think everybody has fallen in love with them. I’m like, ‘What’s wrong with you Martha?’” the dating series lead added of the businesswoman’s remarks, which we’ll get into in 3...2...1...

Cue: The lifestyle expert’s recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she instantly shot down any possibility of appearing on the ABC show because she’s not a fan of the male contestants’ looks.

“Martha, if asked would you go on The Golden Bachelorette?” Andy Cohen asked, to which she responded, “Absolutely not.” “For what?” fellow guest star Snoop Dogg chimed, prompting the host to hit back with a rhetorical, “I don’t know. A million dollars an episode?”

“No, the guys aren’t hot enough,” the businesswoman maintained, with the rapper hilariously adding, “It ain’t about money, it’s about how hot the guys are.”

Anyway! It seems as though Joan didn’t take things too to heart since, during her Access Hollywood interview, she even offered to have Martha come to the finale, which would be such a 🥺 crossover moment.

FYI, during an exclusive convo with Cosmo, the reality star confessed how much she felt for her contestants, who gave up a lot to be on the show—something she could sympathize with having recently been in their shoes during her stint on The Golden Bachelor. “They leave their families, they leave their homes, they leave their dogs and their friends. They leave their comfort zone,” she mused.

Because of this, by the end of night one, whether they didn’t get a rose or continued on the journey, “I wanted them to know they had all kind of already won. That they made it this far and they did something really brave by coming out into the world and showing people (and themselves) they were available and ready to meet somebody. It’s something adventurous and brave and speaks to how someone at our age can still be ready to live life.

Truly couldn’t be more obsessed with Joan any more if we tried!
