Jimmy Bartel edited out of TV show after split with Nadia

Nadia Bartel’s return to the spotlight following her split with AFL star husband Jimmy Bartel, has so far been executed almost perfectly.

From remaining tight-lipped about their marital woes, to making a head-turning solo appearance on the Brownlow red carpet, the mother-of-two seems to be thriving without the presence of her partner of over a decade.

But now it appears the ex-WAG may have had a little help moving on from the producers of The Real Full Monty: Ladies' Night, which saw Nadia and a bevy of celebrity women strip down in order to raise awareness for breast checks.

This assistance was evident in Jimmy apparently being edited out of the program, despite being seated in the audience’s front row when it was filmed back in April.

The 35-year-old was also clearly spotted in the show’s teaser trailers, proudly clapping along, but this appearance was slashed to a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it silhouette and was otherwise covered by decorative explosions when the finished version aired on Sunday night.

Jimmy’s ousting was first reported by The Herald Sun last month after an insider told the publication moves were being made to remove all traces of Nadia’s estranged husband from her big TV moment.

“He will have to be edited from Ladies’ Night. He was in the audience and he was definitely in cutaways,” they said.

Yahoo Lifestyle has contacted Channel 7 for comment.

Weeks before their split

Timelines suggest the special was filmed just weeks before the Bartels’ initial split earlier this year, which came to light along with rumours of Jimmy’s alleged infidelity.

Nadia’s pre-strip interview also appeared to have been re-shot after the news broke, and the final version included details of her experience moving on after the marriage broke down.

Moving on

“It's been a tough time personally for me recently. It's just so painful,” she told the program during an introduction, adding she hoped the experience would “give [her] a whole new load of confidence.”

“Obviously we're there for the cause [breast cancer awareness], but I think it will be great for me to put myself out there.”

Nadia and Jimmy Bartel were once viewed among the AFL’s most high-profile couples due to their respective careers and position on the Melbourne social scene.

However, the 34-year-old has remained defiant throughout the news cycle, telling The Herald Sun last month her priority remains with sons Aston, four, and 11-month-old Henley.

“My single focus now is to continue to protect, care and provide for my two beautiful boys,” she said.
