Jerry Seinfeld gets fact-checked by wife Jessica about their marriage on“ The Tonight Show”: 'Not our anniversary yet!'
"You gotta go by the anniversary," Jerry explained.
Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica found themselves at odds over just how long they’d actually been married during a recent visit to The Tonight Show.
The marital miscommunication occurred after the comedian was asked by host Jimmy Fallon just how long he and his wife — who was in the audience with their son Julian — had been together. Jerry then confidently replied, “We’ve been married for 24 years.”
The camera then cut over to Jessica, who could be seen repeatedly shaking her head before mouthing the words: “It’s 25 years.”

Jerry quickly set the record straight as the audience began to both laugh and gasp over her revelation. “Next month,” he clarified. “It’s not our anniversary yet! You gotta go by the anniversary.”
Jerry and Jessica tied the knot on Christmas Day in 1999, so the Unfrosted star is correct in stating that their 25-year anniversary is next month. Jessica could then be seen seemingly agreeing with her husband, giving a short “oh” in response.
Still, Jerry found a way to bridge the gap between them, adding, “It’ll be 25 next month!”
He also quickly put a stop to people applauding their milestone anniversary. “Why do we always applaud marriage year numbers?” he asked. “It’s a similar applause to when an injured athlete is carted off the field on a stretcher. It’s a very… there’s some pain there. We know. We don’t know exactly what or where.”
He went on to describe marriage as “adult education” and gave some insight into what he’s learned over the years.
“My degree is wifeology, which is the study of female facial movement — eyebrow angles, I study, dental alignment, nostril expansion, oxygen for emotional expressiveness,” he said. “Being a wife is an art. Being a husband is a science. Men, we calculate, we listen for louder than usual closings of doors or drawers. That sounded different. Something is happening.”
The camera then cut over to Jessica, who put her face in her hand and laughed at her husband’s hilarious assessment of their marriage.
Jerry went on to reveal that it’s divorce that he doesn’t entirely understand. “Whatever you have, that’s the best we have,” he said simply. “That’s it. Do people wish it was better? Of course you wish. Of course you’re a little disappointed. They’re disappointed in you too.”
A laughing Fallon added, “Happy anniversary, Jess!”
