US TV host Alex Trebek, who fronts popular game show Jeopardy!, is battling stage four pancreatic cancer, and the fans and contestants of the series are keen to express their support.
In a touching moment this week, a contestant who had no chance of winning, dedicated his final moments on the show to Alex, responding ‘We (love) You, Alex,’ instead of giving an actual answer.
The contestant, Dhruv Gaur, was also wearing a purple ribbon in support of pancreatic cancer, as were his two competitors that night.
Clearly moved by the statement, Alex choked up as he tried to continue as usual, saying, “That’s great, thank you.”
Viewers were equally moved, and the hashtag ‘#WeLoveYouAlex’ began trending on Twitter.

With #WeLoveYouAlex trending, Dhruv doubled down on his message of love and support for Alex, tweeting, “I’m just grateful I got the opportunity to say what I know everyone was thinking.”
“Sending all the love.”
