How Jennifer Lopez Plans to Spend the Holidays After an "Intense Year"
'Tis the season for some quality family time.
Jennifer Lopez admits that she has had a quite the year—In August, she filed for divorce from her husband, Ben Affleck. Now, the multi-hyphenate is just hoping to lay low during the holidays and enjoy the reason for the season: family.
In a new interview with People, the star detailed her plans for the rest of the year, and they include quality time with her kids—she shares 15-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony—and other family members, like her two sisters, Leslie and Lynda.
“It was a pretty intense year for me, and I’m most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast,” she told the publication, before adding that she finds the holidays to be a "special time" no matter what is going on.
“The holidays are such a special time for us, and they’ve always been since I was a little girl,” she said. "And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories.”
She also sees the season as a time to “slow down," relax, and catch up with her friends and loved ones. “We don’t get to see each other all year, so we kind of catch up on what everybody’s doing and how life is,” she said.
As the face of bedazzled water bottles, it's also no surprise that she's a fan of all the glitz, glam, and festivities that come along with the yuletide.
“I love all of the decorations and the hot chocolate and the music and the food, and I'm one of those people who really tries to make it out of a storybook for my kids with all of those things," she admitted. "I'm a sucker for the holidays."
