Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may be in the middle of a divorce, but the former couple is on good terms and even spend time together still. According to a source with inside knowledge of the couple, Affleck and Lopez fully intend to stay connected even though they're no longer romantically together.

“They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved,” the source told Page Six. “Ben and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.”

The outlet's source explained that despite their split, Lopez and Affleck “have a mutual respect for one another,” which is “not something that goes away” overnight. “Obviously things haven’t been the same, but they have a lot of history,” the source added.

Part of what is keeping the estranged spouses in close proximity is their children. The insider revealed that their kids—Affleck's younger children Seraphina, and Samuel and Lopez's twins Emme and Max—"attend the same school so they’re bound to spend time together.” As such, Affleck and Lopez try their best to keep their relationship as amicable as possible, even though they aren't required to co-parent. Affleck's oldest child, Violet, whom he also shares with Jennifer Garner, is currently in college, but has remained close with Lopez since the breakup.

“Ben and Jennifer remain amicable whenever they do see each other," the source concluded. "They’re still close with each other’s children, and even though they don’t have a co-parenting type of relationship, they still feel like a blended family in a lot of ways.”
