Jennifer Aniston's devastating personal news: 'Sweet papa'

Jennifer Aniston’s father John has died aged 89, leaving the star heartbroken. The Friends actress announced his death on Instagram and labelled him as the ‘most beautiful human’.

Alongside a carousel of photos from her childhood, the star penned a bittersweet tribute to her late father.

“Sweet papa…John Anthony Aniston. You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace — and without pain. And on 11/11 no less!

“You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now. I’ll love you till the end of time. Don’t forget to visit,” she finished.


Her Instagram post was liked by over 2.9 million people, with thousands of comments flooding in to support the star.

“He looks so wonderful, such tender smiling eyes, sending you so much love,” actress Helena Christensen wrote.

“Sending you all my angels. I love you sister,” fellow The Morning Show star Reese Witherspoon added.

“Your dad was such a part of so many of our lives, running home after school to watch Days. I loved Victor. Lots of love to you,” stylist Karla Welch shared.

“Sending all the love and light possible and hugs I could possibly give,” Emily in Paris star Lily Collins commented.

Many celebrity pals left heart emojis on her post, including Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan and Jennifer’s ex-husband Justin Theroux.

John was best known for his role as Victor Kiriaksis on NBC’s Days of Our Lives, which he played for 37 years. The Greek actor was honoured with a Daytime Emmy Lifestyle Achievement Award in 2022 for his contribution to the industry.

He also appeared in multiple TV shows such as Mad Men, Gilmore Girls, Star Trek: Voyager and Cold Case.
