Jennifer Aniston Gets Dirty—Literally—During 'The Morning Show' Filming in NYC
It’s a dirty job but someone’s apparently got to do it in the new season of The Morning Show—and that person is Jennifer Aniston in character as newswoman Alex Levy.
Aniston was caught filming Season 4 of the hit Apple TV+ series, which she stars in with Reese Witherspoon, in the Flatiron District of New York City.
Alex is splashed with a dark, inky substance that appears to be oil. She isn’t wearing fur, so it’s not animal rights protestors attacking her, but with her history on UBA, there could be several reasons why she is caught in the deluge.
Alex does make it through the protest with her phone intact, and in the background but not in the photo, there are signs being held up which say “Extinction Revolt” and “Truth Warrior.”
According to showrunner Charlotte Stoudt, Season 4 will premiere after the upcoming presidential election in November 2024. It will find Alex has earned her seat at the management table, while Bradley (Witherspoon) is facing the unknown with the FBI and the fact that she tried to protect her brother by hiding the footage of him at the Jan. 6 insurrection.
Season 4 will start with a time jump because the show doesn’t want to get too far behind real-life events, issues such as the presidential election and the threat of potentially misleading technologies like AI.
“We blew everything up last year with the biggest bomb we could possibly build,” Stoudt told Deadline. “So, we have to ask ourselves how is the band going to get back together, and what will that look like? We get into the world of DeepFakes and AI and the misinformation in the fog of war that we’re seeing now in the Middle East and stuff. We’re looking at who can you trust. And can you trust what you’re seeing? Can you trust yourself? Can you trust your news outlet?”
