Jenna Dewan is excited to celebrate Halloween with her newly minted family of five – but her older daughter Everly doesn't always make the costume search easy.

Speaking with PEOPLE about her partnership with Neostrata, the Rookie star, 43, opened up about her family's upcoming Halloween plans. Dewan, who just welcomed her baby daughter Rhiannon in June, reveals the reason she "always laughs" when picking out a costume for her 11-year-old daughter Everly "Evy," whom she shares with ex Channing Tatum.

"She doesn't pick a costume that I can just go buy at a store," Dewan explains. "She's like, 'I want to be the anime character from this TV show' that no one else has ever watched, that there's zero costumes on the internet for."

"I'm on Etsy three months ahead of time trying to find bits and pieces that all come together to be this one anime character," the mom of three tells PEOPLE. "But that's been fun but it's every year, so I'm used to it with her."

As for her son Callum, 4, and daughter Rhiannon, whom she shares with fiancé Steve Kazee, Dewan says their costumes will be a little bit easier.

"Callum wants to be a dragon, so we're looking for the cutest dragon costume or dinosaur," she shares.

"And Rhiannon, I'm just looking for the cutest little costume I could find for her. I think right now we might make her just a little pumpkin, because she's got that newborn, cute little chubby cheeks, and I think a pumpkin costume would just be the cutest thing ever."

Elsewhere in the interview, Dewan spoke about how the transition from two to three kids has been going, saying that it's been surprisingly easier than she expected.

"I think I had the idea it was going to be so hard," Dewan tells PEOPLE. "I'm thinking, 'How in the world do you do three kids?' But I always tell people to leave room in your brain, in your mind, about it actually going better than you think, always in all areas of life, not just with parenting."

"And when Rhiannon was born, and we came home from the hospital, I was like, 'Here we go. This is going to be...How do we do a toddler, an 11-year-old and a baby?' And it just really was smooth. It was pretty smooth."
