Jenna Bush Hager shared a personal message for her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, during the Monday, Nov. 25, broadcast of Today with Hoda & Jenna.

When co-host Hoda Kotb asked Jenna how she planned to spend her 43rd birthday on Monday night, the former first daughter revealed that she will be uniting with Barbara so that they can celebrate together.

"My sister’s coming," Jenna replied. "Can I say happy birthday to my twin, my little sissy?"

She added, "She doesn’t watch our show but if she did, we’d say happy birthday."

Though Barbara may not watch her sister's talk show on NBC News every morning, she's plenty familiar with how it works: In November 2023, Barbara joinedToday's fourth hour as a guest, giving her and Jenna a chance to reminisce about their upbringing on live TV — including the lessons they learned from their father, former President George W. Bush, and the time that they crushed on the same boy in seventh grade.

Also on the air on Monday, Jenna said that she was feeling "chill" and admitted that she got an early start to the celebration over the weekend thanks to a surprise from her husband, Henry Hager.

"We put up our Christmas tree last night, and Henry did something very sweet for me,” Jenna said. "He planned a dinner party that was murder mystery themed. I’ve always wanted to do that where you solved a mystery."

She continued, "He listened to me too, which I love. Because he knew I always wanted to do it. It was very fun."

With the dual birthdays and Thanksgiving around the corner, Jenna added that her family has plenty more festivities lined up this week.

“On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we’ll do a joint party for the kids,” she said. “Don’t you think that birthdays are kind of for the kids? They’ll celebrate. Mila wants to make a cake.”
