Jason Tartick Says He's Had a 'Tough Week' Since Split from Kat Stickler: 'Breakups Suck'
The pair announced their split on Oct. 12 after six months of dating
Jason Tartick is sharing an update following his breakup from Kat Stickler.
The Bachelorette alum, 35, admitted on his podcast Trading Secrets that the “past week’s been tough” after announcing his split from Stickler, 29, on Oct. 12.
“I mean, there’s just no way to kind of beat around the bush,” he shared. “Tough week. Breakups suck. If you’re in a situation where you’re not feeling OK, just know that’s OK.”
Since the breakup, Tartick had a speaking engagement, which he said he “powered through.” Luckily, the television personality noted the speech went well, explaining, “Weirdly enough … I felt like it was one of the better speeches I ever gave, and it was what I was dreading the most. I didn’t feel like I was in a headspace to do it.”
Tartick — who was previously engaged to Kaitlyn Bristowe before calling it quits in August 2023 — also shared some advice for navigating heartbreak.
“But if anyone's not feeling okay now, I guess some productive ideas, some that have helped me is really leaning in,” he told his listeners. “I think leaning into the people that matter most to you, mom, dad, for me, brother too, best friends."
Tartick shared the importance of self care in difficult times, saying, “Some other things I've been doing is meditation. I got away from that for a while, but this week just really sitting in, avoiding distractions. Small things like focusing on hydration, been doing sauna. I've been reading instead of watching TV and even focusing on diet and all those little things, those little baby steps truly can help you get grounded and centered again.”
Tartick’s update comes more than a week after he and Stickler announced on social media they had decided to go their separate ways. The reality star shared a statement in which he confirmed the split, saying that he and Stickler, 29, parted ways "amicably" and that he was "rooting for her happiness" as they both moved forward.
"I am sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together," he wrote. "It's fair to say that I love hard with all my heart and fall fast. Sometimes in life, that works out and other times it doesn't. This time it didn't."
Tartick continued, "Kat has brought me so much happiness and light, she brought out parts of me I never knew existed. I will forever be grateful for her and of course, sweet and MK," referring to Stickler's 5-year-old daughter, MK.
"This chapter closes amicably, and another opens. I'll be rooting for her happiness and I am also rooting for mine. ❤️🩹," he concluded.

Stickler also addressed the split in her own Instagram video. She also called the breakup “amicable” and noted, "I just wanted to tell you guys and it's not love wasted. I feel like sometimes its so easy to think that when a relationship ends that the love is wasted. But love is never wasted. So, that's all I have to say."
