Last year, Jane Fonda split from long-term partner Richard Perry and last month declared she was done with dating for good.
Now the Grace and Frankie star has spoken out about sex as an older woman, and how when you reach a certain age, “there’s no reason you have to have sex.”
“It should be a choice! If you decide to close up shop down there, that’s fine too,” she told the co-hosts of the British talk show Loose Women.
“You don’t particularly enjoy watching wrinkled lips kissing each other!” she then added about how older couples are portrayed on screen.
In an interview with Extra, Jane spoke about her non-existent dating life.
“I’m not dating anymore but I did up until a couple of years ago. I’m 80,” she said. “I’ve closed up shop down there!”
Jane was joined by her co-stars Diane Keaton, 72, Candice Bergen, 72, and Mary Steenburgen, 65, who were promoting their new flick Book Club.
The film tells the story of four women whose lives are changed after reading the novel Fifty Shades of Grey.
