There’s no denying Jamie Lee Curtis is an absolutely badass woman.
With a career spanning over four decades, the actress really is the ultimate woman we should all aspire to be.
However when chatting to Yahoo Lifestyle about the new Halloween sequel, she admitted it’s been a long road to get to where she is.
Jamie starred in the first Halloween film 40 years ago in 1978, and since then her career has soared.
But that doesn’t mean she hasn’t experienced her own trials and tribulations along the way.
“I was a very vulnerable and very insecure person,” she admitted. “It’s taken me a long time to wear a red power suit.”
Now, in 2018, the 59-year-old truly believes this is the time for women to shine.
“It’s been time for women to get it f**king done for a long time,” the actress stated. “We haven’t been allowed to and I think that’s been the problem.”
Speaking on the #MeToo movement, Jamie Lee applauded the “bravery of all these women to come forward to tell the truth against people who were in positions of power”.
“All these women have come forward to say, ‘I’m not going to be silenced anymore’,” she added.
Reflecting on her character in the film, Laurie Strode, Jamie Lee discussed the importance to see her take back her power.
“In that sense representing a fictional woman who’s suffered a trauma and is taking back the narrative of her life, is powerful,” she said.
We just have one more question for you Jamie Lee – where can we find our own red power suit just like yours?
Halloween is out in all theatres across Australia on October 25, 2018.
