"The Great Thing About Mistakes": Jamie Lee Curtis Shared The Best Advice About Messing Up
Jamie Lee Curtis has been a Hollywood icon for decades, including her legendary role as Laurie Strode in the Halloween films and her Oscar-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
But as she's repeatedly made clear, Jamie has her personal challenges, just like the rest of us.
Fortunately, with experience comes wisdom, and Jamie just told us about the beauty of making mistakes.
BuzzFeed asked Jamie, on the premiere red carpet for her new film Borderlands, what the biggest mistake she'd ever made was.
While Jamie didn't state a specific mistake, her answer was still incredibly honest...and helpful.
"Here's what I'll tell you: I'm sober 25 years," she said. "I made mistakes in my life. There's no question."

She then imparted some much-needed wisdom. "You know, the great thing about mistakes is when you take responsibility for them. That's the goal," she said. "To me, every human being makes [mistakes]. We're human. We make mistakes; we're contradictory; [and] we're flawed. We are challenged people because we're trying to do...often we do something and say another. We're contradictory."

"But to me the great thing of mistakes is when you own it and the freedom of being able to say I blew it or I made a terrible mistake or little mistake and take responsibility and move on," she continued.

"It's not the specific mistake. It's how you handle the mistake," she said.
