Jacob Elordi Reportedly Involved in Australia Investigation Following Altercation with Radio Producer
An Australian radio producer alleged that Jacob Elordi placed his hands on his throat after the producer approached him outside a hotel and filmed the encounter
Jacob Elordi is reportedly involved in a police investigation in Australia after an altercation at a hotel involving a radio producer.
The Saltburn actor, 26, was at a hotel in Sydney on Monday when Joshua Fox, who works for iHeartRadio's Australian morning show The Kyle and Jackie O Show, approached the actor, per multiple outlets.
As the show's host and Fox recounted during Sunday's episode, the radio program had sent Fox to ask Elordi about obtaining some of his bathwater — in reference to a viral scene from Saltburn — as a "birthday present" for one of the show's hosts, Jackie O. In an alleged audio recording of the encounter between Fox and Elordi, the actor can be heard asking, "Are you kidding? Are you filming? Can you not, man, please?"
According to Fox, Elordi asked him to delete a recording of their interaction and demanded to see Fox delete it. It's at that moment, alleged Fox, that the Euphoria actor pushed the producer against a wall and placed his hands on his throat.
A representative for Elordi did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment Monday. In a statement shared with PEOPLE, the New South Wales Police said it is investigating the incident, and no charges have been brought.

"Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command are investigating after a man was allegedly assaulted outside a hotel in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs," the statement reads. "Police were told about 3.30pm on Saturday 3 February 2024, a 32-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a 26-year-old man. The man did not sustain any injuries. Inquiries into the incident is continuing."
Fox said that Elordi released him after a moment and walked away from the encounter — though he said a friend of Elordi's asked him again to make sure he deleted the footage as he walked away. He also said on Sunday's show that police initially contacted him to tell him they obtained security footage from outside the hotel should Fox decide to make a statement.

"[I said] I refused to [fully delete the footage immediately] because I feel uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence [of the encounter] and then Jacob kind of just flips his hands and pushes me against the wall and his hands are on my throat," he said.

Elordi plays a wealthy English university student in Saltburn, which follows lead character Oliver (Barry Keoghan) as he befriends Felix (Elordi) at the University of Oxford and slowly grows unhealthily obsessed with him. The provocative movie has inspired much discussion in response to one seen in which Keoghan's character drinks bathwater from a tub Elordi's character bathes in.
After a busy 2023 that also saw Elordi play Elvis Presley in Priscilla, the actor is next expected to appear as Frankenstein's monster in Guillermo del Toro's upcoming adaptation of Frankenstein.
