The actor recently appeared on a panel for BBC talk show The Graham Norton Show alongside Denzel Washington, Paul Mescal, and Eddie Redmayne.

At one point, the discussion apparently turned to how one would defend oneself from being attacked in public. "If someone attacked me, I'm not gonna go, 'Phone,'" Paul joked, while miming himself reaching for his phone.

Saoirse attempted to respond, but the audience's response made it hard for her to get the words out, at first. Paul then joked, "Sorry mom, one second — bang," while pretending to talk on an invisible phone, as Saoirse looked on.

"That's what girls have to think about all the time," she responded, as the audience responded with applause and her male colleagues finally quieted down for a second. "Am I right, ladies?" she added.
