Influencer Sophia Smith Announces Engagement to Boyfriend James Bridgwood: 'Yes a Million Times Over'
Smith dated One Direction singer Liam Payne from May 2013 to October 2015
Sophia Smith is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, James Bridgwood.
The influencer with more than 800,000 followers revealed via Instagram that her boyfriend, James Bridgwood, proposed to her on Christmas Day.
“Yes a million times over ❤️💍 25.12.24,” she captioned a black and white video of the proposal on Friday, Dec. 27.
In the video, Bridgwood kneeled in front of Smith as their 1-year-old daughter, Angelina, toddled around behind them. A sparkling diamond was visible on Smith's left hand ring finger as she covered her face with both of her hands before smiling and embracing Bridgwood. The couple then pulled Angelina in to join them in a group hug.
Rose petals covered the carpet below the family of three, who wore festive pajamas for the holiday. Next to them was a bottle of champagne and two glasses. The video was set to the acoustic tune of Dan Berk's "Anyone."

It's unknown when Smith began dating Bridgwood, but she shared her first Instagram picture with him in June 2022. She announced her pregnancy that December, tagging her then-boyfriend in an Instagram snap of her baby bump. Their daughter was born in April 2023.
Smith previously dated One Direction singer Liam Payne from May 2013 to October 2015. Payne died at age 31, on Oct. 16, after falling from a third-story hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The mother of one congratulated her ex when he and Cheryl Cole — whom Payne dated from 2016 to 2018 after his split with Smith — welcomed their son, Bear, in March 2017.
“I messaged to congratulate him,” she told The Sun in April 2017. “We’re all good. I’m happy for him.”
