Instagram influencer loses $780k Lamborghini over unpaid fines

An Instagram influencer and model has had her $780,000 Lamborghini seized after failing to pay $340,000 in fines.

Nastya Ivleeva, a Russian Playboy model and Instagram influencer, had her supercar confiscated last week for failing to pay 199 traffic fines, Russian publication NUR.KZ reports.

The 30-year-old posted on Instagram to her 18.7 million followers in July last year that she was “bursting with pride” after purchasing a Lamborghini Aventador which she dreamed of owning since she was a student.

“I understood that this was an absolutely incredible desire, especially in those days,” she wrote.

“But, nothing is impossible.”

Unfortunately, it turns out Ms Ivleeva was a bit behind in paying her fines. She had 199 outstanding fines amounting to 20 million Rubles or AU$340,000. This was just since purchasing the car last year.

The fines were reportedly for a variety of offences including speeding and parking.

In a now deleted Instagram story video, her Lamborghini was pictured on the back of a flatbed truck being confiscated.

She captioned the video “my baby is being taken away”.

However, Ms Ivleeva has since gotten her Lamborghini back after paying off all her outstanding fines.

In Australia, a Lamborghini Aventador can sell for anywhere between $580,000 to $800,000, according to CarSales.com. A 2019 model is currently listed for more than $1 million.

UK man also has his Lamborghini Aventador seized

A man in the UK also had his Lamborghini Aventador seized for failing to pay his road tax.

The Lamborghini Aventador had his car seized by police in Newport, on England’s Isle of Wight, last month.

Police said “the tax had expired in August 2020”.

The UK has similar laws to other countries when it comes to vehicle registration and tax which is known as Vehicle Excise Duty.

Vehicles which produce more carbon dioxide are taxed heavier with the most expensive costing $3600 in the first year.

Every subsequent year it’s about $270 unless the car is valued at more than $71,000 in which case owners have to pay an extra $580.

In this case, the Lamborghini owner probably owed about $850, which might seem costly but pales in comparison to the value of the car itself.
