In new post, Colin Kaepernick shows love for Panthers' Eric Reid, his supporters

Colin Kaepernick doesn’t say much publicly, but he sees and he listens.

On Thursday, he showed that he’s been paying attention.

‘You never turned your back on me or the people’

Kaepernick posted a video on Twitter and Instagram of him working out with safety Eric Reid of the Carolina Panthers.

Reid and Kaepernick were teammates on the San Francisco 49ers when Kaepernick began his silent protest three years ago this week, and Reid was the first to join Kaepernick in kneeling to bring attention police brutality and social and racial injustice during the playing of the national anthem.

Reid has continued kneeling since signing with the Panthers last year, and is also something of a de facto spokesman for Kaepernick — for instance, this week when many wondered if Kaepernick was part of the partnership Jay-Z and his Roc Nation management group entered into with the NFL, Reid on Twitter clarified that the quarterback is not.

“You never turned your back on me or the people, even when the nfl tried to silence your voice & the movement,” Kaepernick tweeted on Thursday. “You’ve never flinched or wavered. I love you Brother! Let’s get it!”

‘I see you, I hear you!’

Kaepernick also added a message to those who support him.

“And to the people - I see you, I hear you and I love you! Thank you for having my back!!!” he wrote, adding a raised fist emoji.

Via the video, it’s been 897 days since Kaepernick last was on an NFL roster.
