His weeks spent in the depths of the South African jungle are clearly taking a toll on TV chef and co-host of The Living Room, Miguel Maestre, who breaks down in tears in an upcoming episode of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

Miguel, 40, can be seen welling up after revealing just how much he is missing his family back in Australia in an exclusive clip provided to Yahoo Lifestyle ahead of Wednesday night’s episode.

To take part in season six of the popular reality show the Spanish-born TV personality left behind his wife, Sascha, and their two children, Claudia, 9, and five-year-old Morgan.

“Oh, I miss the kids so much. That’s the only hard thing I find here. My children,” he tells fellow campmate Tanya Hennessey.

Despite not being ‘the type of guy who cries,’ the typically cheerful Miguel openly weeps later while alone in a one-on-one interview.

An ‘emotional’ farewell

Miguel, who appeared on the 2019 season of Dancing With The Stars, was the first celeb to be announced as heading into the jungle in November last year.

Before departing for South Africa, the father-of-two took to his Instagram account to bid his beloved family an ‘emotional’ farewell.

“This video is very powerful when I’m posting I’m getting quite emotional as I’m gonna miss my family and that’s going to be [sic] the hardest,” he captioned a sweet video of his son and daughter.

Amanda’s Logie’s rage

Earlier in the season, Miguel let the cat out of the bag when he hinted that his The Living Room co-star Amanda Keller will likely boycott this year’s Logie Awards.

“I don't think she's interested, I don't think she'll even go,” he declared.

Amanda was the crowd favourite to win the coveted Gold Logie award in 2019 but was infamously snubbed in favour of comedian Tom Gleeson, which evidently has had Miguel fuming ever since.

“She’s a woman who (has) fought through intelligence in the industry,” he added.

Miguel, along with his fellow celebs including Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby, is competing to win $100,000 for their chosen charity, and the ‘gloating rights’ of being crowned 2020’s King or Queen Of The Jungle.

The reigning king is former Today gossip correspondent Richard Reid, who beat out ex-Gogglebox star Yvie Jones and retired AFL player Shane Crawford to take the top spot.

I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! season six airs 7.30 pm Sunday to Thursday on Channel 10.
