The former health secretary has been widely criticised for signing up for the ITV show.
And when he entered the jungle on Wednesday (10 November) some of the campers confronted him about why he had abandoned his job as an MP to take part in the reality programme.
However, Hollyoaks' Warner confessed to being a bit clueless about what the politician had done.
"I don't fully understand the mistakes he has made to be honest," he said.
"I don't follow politics."
"But yeah, I'm up for just judging him in here," he added.
The actor had previously suggested that he wasn't entirely sure who campmate Mike Tindall's wife Zara Phillips was.
And he also believed Chris Moyles when the radio legend claimed that he was actually an award-winning champion dancer.
Viewers were thoroughly amused by Warner's comments on Hancock.
One tweeted: "KNEW IT! Owen is the only one who doesn’t have a clue why they’re reacting to Matt like that."
"Did Owen sleep through 2020?" asked one fan on Twitter, adding: "How can he not know what Matt Hancock has done?"
"Bless Owen he has no idea who Matt Hancock is, stay innocent love," said someone else.
"I absolutely love Owen, he’s gold," said another viewer.
Referring to what happened with Moyles, one person joked: "Let's face it, Owen will assume Matt Hancock is a dancer as well, so someone will have to tell him."
