Margot Robbie's family told her to get a 'real job'
Margot Robbie is tipped to win a Golden Globe on Monday and has been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in I, Tonya.
But the stunning Aussie actress has just revealed, she may never have played the part if she'd listened to her family's advice.
"My family has no connection to the entertainment industry whatsoever," Margot told Vogue magazine. "When I started acting, everyone was like, 'That's fun, but when are you going to actually get a real job?"
“That went on for years...” she added.
The 27-year-old started out in Neighbours, but got her breakthrough role starring in Wolf Of Wall Street alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 2013.
It catapulted Margot to fame and saw her work with huge Hollywood stars, such as Will Smith, Jared Leto and Alexander Skarsgård.
Despite her success, she revealed that her family have kept her grounded.
“They're impressed for five seconds," she said. "And then they're…'So anyway, the dog threw up today.'”
The Byron Bay native posed alongside fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman for the piece, which was celebrating a new era in Hollywood.
We can't imagine Margot, who is married to film director Tom Ackerley, took much notice of the remarks anyway.
The notoriously sassy star notably put a journalist in their place in 2017 when they asked about her marriage and not her career.
What a boss!
