‘Humiliated’ Justin Timberlake set to resume tour days after DWI arrest
NEW YORK — Justin Timberlake is set to take the stage in Chicago on Friday as previously planned, despite his DWI arrest earlier this week.
The 43-year-old’s performance at the United Center, as part of his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, will mark his first concert since the incident, for which he was hit with a single DWI charge.
Timberlake is also slated to perform Saturday at the same venue, before heading to New York for shows at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The NSYNC alum was reportedly partying before he blew through a stop sign early Tuesday in Sag Harbor, Long Island. Timberlake, who failed multiple field sobriety tests and refused a breathalyzer, was taken into custody and arraigned later that morning.
While it doesn’t look as though the incident will affect Timberlake’s domestic shows, it’s still unclear whether the same can be said for the European leg of his tour.
The “Selfish” singer is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, the same day he’s set to perform the first of two consecutive shows in Kraków, Poland.
The “Cry Me A River” crooner is “feeling remorseful, ashamed, and humiliated,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday. But Timberlake isn’t the only one kicking himself over the incident.
Wife Jessica Biel, who’s been filming Amazon’s “The Better Sister” in Manhattan this week, is also “extremely upset” about the DWI, an insider told Us Weekly, despite appearing unbothered in paparazzi photos taken from the set.
Meanwhile, attorney Edward Burke, who’s representing Timberlake in the case, told the Daily News his client “will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but [is] currently awaiting full discovery from the district attorney’s office.”
