On the July 25 episode of Hot Ones, the Deadpool & Wolverine actor, 55, opened up about working as Coco the Clown at children’s parties prior to becoming famous.

He told host Sean Evans that he looks back at the job fondly.

Jackman continued with a specific story about the gig. “I broke my rule and I did an eight year old party. I always knew that they were gonna find me out. And he found me out," he said. "And this kid yelled to his mom, 'Mom, this clown is crap.' I was like, 'Shut up kid, shut up kid.' "

He shared that one trick he could do was juggling, so he had eggs on him. "I just reached in. I grabbed eggs. I'm like, 'Yeah, what about that?' I just cracked it on my head."

The eight-year-old boy was amused by the act, so he continued.

Jackman has discussed working as a birthday clown in past interviews, telling The Howard Stern Show in 2018 that he was a "good" clown until the children got above the age of three.

"So, at a three-year-old's birthday party, I was the best. You could climb on my head. I could juggle three things. I could juggle kind of anything, like swords, anything, for three," he explained. "But nothing more. No balloon animals. No magic tricks, nothing."

Jackman spoke of the aforementioned eight-year-old’s party in the interview and said it was the "last gig I ever did."

"It ended up with the kids having the eggs, throwing them at me. And it was working. They loved it. And kicking the shit out of me. Just like, I just let them dive on top, it’s was just a wrestling – it was pathetic," he said. "Really I was crap."

Now, Jackman and Reynolds are gearing up for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26.

In an exclusive interview at the movie’s premiere in New York City, Reynolds told PEOPLE that his daughter Betty, 4, "loves Hugh, unconditionally."

"And she expresses that love through unblinking violence. So she attacks him, thinking she has claws and he has a healing factor — which he might," he said, referring to the Jackman's character's special abilities in the Marvel franchise.
