Fans of Australian actress Alin Sumarwata will remember her as May Stone on Home and Away and as the very dramatic Vanessa Villante on Neighbours.

It was only recently that it was confirmed her Neighbours character will be returning to Ramsay Street for an interesting storyline, but in real life the actress now looks worlds apart from her onscreen persona.

Alin, who shares two children with Offspring heartthrob Don Hany, has changed her appearance for her most recent role on US action series, Strike Back.

The TV star has chopped off her long locks for an edgy side shave, complete with caramel highlights, proving a mere hairstyle change can do so much to achieve an incredible transformation.

Alin plays Gracie Novin on Strike Back, a very different character to the ones she’s portrayed on Home and Away in 2009 and on Neighbours from 2012 to 2013, and then later in 2015.

Earlier this year it was announced that Alin’s Neighbours character would be returning to Erinsborough for a dramatic storyline.

Taking to Twitter, the actress expressed her excitement about coming back.

“No way would I have not been there for it,” she wrote.
