“High School Musical'”s KayCee Stroh Recalls Watching the Iconic Disney Movies with Her Kids for the First Time (Exclusive)
The actress shares daughters Zetta, 11, and Lettie, 8, with longtime husband Ben Higginson
KayCee Stroh has finally shared the magic of High School Musical with her little ones.
PEOPLE recently caught up with Stroh, 40, who is now married to Ben Higginson and a mom to daughters Zetta, 11, and Lettie, 8, and she shared the moment her "baby wildcats" watched their mom's iconic movies for the first time two years ago. Before actually viewing the franchise, however, they had to get used to being stopped in public by fans of their mom's character Martha Cox.
"They've grown up with this being such a huge part of my life," the actress tells PEOPLE. "I get stopped at the grocery store and the drive-thru and everywhere we go, and they've always known" their mom was in the Disney movies.

She continues to share, "It was this ongoing joke in our family of how they didn't want to watch High School Musical yet, and so we just had a lighthearted joke about it."
"Two years ago, my oldest daughter — who holds the title of First Baby Wildcat – was like, 'Mom, you know what? We really need to watch this,' " the mom of two recalls.
Stroh's family of four then watched the first movie together. "I was waiting for the response and they're like, 'Can we put on the second one? Can we stay up late?' Which I thought was so cute to finally have that moment."
She adds, "They were pointing at the screen and being like, 'I see you, I see you.'"

Now watching the movies back as a mom, Stroh tells PEOPLE that High School Musical really does hold up no matter what age you watch.
"I was like, this is so good. I'm looking at this with different eyes now, and all of these songs are absolutely beautiful. The lyrics are timeless. The dance numbers were phenomenal," says Stroh. "I'm like, wow, we did something really good here."
Stroh does, however, call it "weird" how normal it is for her children to see their mom on TV, saying, "It is an interesting dynamic for these kids who are raised in a family under actors because they're like, oh yeah, Mom's on TV"
"It's just normal when people are like, 'Oh, I saw your mom on Andy Mack, or I saw her on this. And they're like, 'Yeah, yeah, that's just mom. She's on TV," she says. "That's just their norm. It's so weird."
