HGTV Star Mina Starsiak Hawk Revealed the Real Reason She's Leaving 'Good Bones'
You probably recognize Mina Starsiak Hawk as the star of HGTV's popular series Good Bones. Originally premiering in 2016, after 8 seasons the show has officially come come to an end. Fans have been there through numerous life changes for Starsiak Hawk, including her engagement, marriage, and the birth of her two children Jack and Charlie, not to mention all the homes Mina and the Two Chicks and a Hammer crew have transformed in the Indianapolis area.
She announced back in August that season 8 will be her last season with the show on her podcast, "Mina AF." "Today, I filmed my last few pickups for 'Good Bones.' Not 'Good Bones' Season Eight, but for 'Good Bones,'" Starsiak Hawk said. "So it is officially, 'That's a wrap, folks.'... it's the end of an era."
Mina explained with all the changes in her life, along with her mother's recent retirement from Two Chicks and a Hammer, it's all become too much. "It's not my job to keep two dozen people employed for the rest of their lives or all the things that I was putting on myself that was making it really, really hard to function as a normal human being because I always felt the weight of so many other people's worlds that I put on my shoulders. No one else did that to me. There's no blame game to play there. "
She continued, "And I just became a version of myself that I really didn't like because when you're fighting, when you feel like you're fighting for your life, it's not the best version of anyone." The increasing list of responsibilities put too much strain on Starsiak Hawk, prompting her to close that chapter for now.
She did emphasize the deep connections she's forged with others who work on the show throughout the years, and how she'll always be thankful for those relationships. With her Good Bones chapter closed, Mina has a new role as the Chief Design and Build Officer for home improvement brand Character.
