Heather Rae El Moussa Praises Husband Tarek for Sharing His 'Very Personal Life' in 'Vulnerable' New Book
The 'Selling Sunset' alum said she was "so proud" of her husband following the release of his tell-all 'Flip Your Life'
Heather Rae El Moussa is one proud wife!
On Tuesday, The Flipping El Moussas star, 36, heaped praise on her husband Tarek El Moussa for the release of his “vulnerable and real” new book, Flip Your Life: How to Find Opportunity in Distress—in Real Estate, Business, and Life (out now).
Alongside a photo of their one-year-old son Tristan holding a copy of the tell-all memoir-meets-self-help guide, Heather wrote on Instagram, “Tristan wants to let you know that his dad’s new book JUST LAUNCHED and that if he’s willing to, he’ll share them with you 🤍😂 We are so proud of @therealtarekelmoussa for the official launch of Flip Your Life and I’m just so proud of everything you’ve been able to accomplish.”
“This book not only teaches you about real estate but it’s also the story of Tarek’s *very* personal life that includes things like his struggles, cancers, divorce, addiction, business struggles, and more in a really vulnerable and real way,” the Selling Sunset alum continued.
“There is a lesson to be learned in every single chapter and it’s that kind of book that makes you feel good and want to push yourself to do better," she added
The post also included a second snap of Tristan, who turned 1 last week, smiling as he held onto a box filled with copies of his dad’s book.
“Omg he’s just the cutest,” wrote Tarek, 42, in the comments section, adding three red heart emojis in a separate comment.
Meanwhile, in a post shared on her Instagram Story, Heather said she and Tristan would be “reading & re-reading” the memoir “all day to celebrate” its launch.
In the bombshell book, which was released on Feb. 6, Tarek details everything from the end of his marriage to his Flip or Flop co-star Christina Hall, to the time he was arrested and charged with attempted murder.
Writing about the incident in his memoir, the HGTV star shares that he grew up in a “rough neighborhood” in Southern California and was involved in a gang fight at age 17.
"When I came to, I was sitting in the back of a police car, in handcuffs, charged with assault and battery, aggravated assault, attempted murder, and assault with a deadly weapon. Today I’m convinced that the police arrived at exactly the right moment. If I hadn’t been arrested, I would have been killed," he writes.
Tarek recounts the police determined he acted in self-defense and because he was a juvenile, the records were sealed. He spent a short time in a juvenile detention center after his arrest and he exclusively told PEOPLE the situation was one he’ll “never forget.”
