Heather McMahan’s ‘Breadwinner’ Stand-Up Special Sets Hulu Premiere Date

EXCLUSIVE: Comedian and podcaster Heather McMahan’s second stand-up special Breadwinner will premiere on Hulu on October 11.

The one-hour special will pay tribute to McMahan’s southern roots, and it was filmed over two sold-out nights at the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta, where McMahan wrapped The Comeback Tour.

Breadwinner contains material like the pressure of McMahan’s financial support, the perils of being a golf widow, planning a wedding on an overblown budget, relating to in-laws and more.

“Please watch this special so I can continue to financially dominate my husband and sleep like a boss bitch at night,” McMahan said.

McMahan’s first stand-up special, Son I Never Had, is available to stream on Netflix. The segment discusses Tiktok therapy, joking through her dad’s eulogy, hitting her emergency weight and more. The special arrived on Netflix on Oct. 17, 2023.

McMahan also hosts the podcast, Absolutely Not, which boasts over 400K monthly downloads. She also has almost 1 million followers across social media platforms.

She joins Chris Distefano, Jim GaffiganBill Burr, Ilana GlazerRoy Wood Jr.Atsuko Okatsukaand Jessica Kirson at Hulu as the streamer ramps up its comedy offerings with commissioned originals from those previously mentioned under the Hularious banner.

Breadwinner is written, performed, and self-produced by McMahan’s Absolutely Not Productions, directed by Jen Zaborowski, and executive produced by 800 Pound Gorilla, Maggie Haskins, Chris Ketner, and Christina Tompkins.

McMahan is represented by UTA, Artists First and Ziffren Brittenham LLP.
