America’s Got Talent is full of exhilarating, daredevil-style stunts, which usually end with the audience being left in awe of how the acts managed to pull them off.

However, on the latest episode of the reality show, a husband and wife duo’s terrifying trapeze performance went terribly wrong.

Mary and Tyce, who go by the name Duo Transcend, appeared on the stage to show off their incredible acrobatic moves.

The stage was set, with fire raging from the ground and their bar suspended from the roof.

Tyce could be seen putting on his blindfold, which is the moment where Simon Cowell and the rest of the judges, Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and guest Ken Jeong, were videoed cringing.

He then climbed up on to the bar and hung off it, with Mary clambering on top of him and also hanging upside down.

Mary then dropped, which is when Tyce was supposed to catch her by the ankles to stop her from hitting the floor.

All the judges could be seen covering their faces in shock as Mary tumbled to the floor.

The camera then cut to the audience, where the couple’s two-year-old son, Jaxx was sitting with his grandmother.

In the video above, the grandmother can be seen reacting with horror as she watches the scene unfold and then goes to try and cover Jaxx’s face.

Thankfully, all ended well and Mary actually fell on to the soft mat below the bar and not only the hard-floored stage.

The couple progressed to the next round, with the judges recognising their skill, despite the fumble in their act.
