Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has copped her fair share for criticism for promoting expensive Goop items.

The founder of the organic beauty line, Goop, shared her morning smoothie recipe on her site.

Apparently “Gwyneth drinks one of these every morning,” the caption states.

But before you jump to purchase any of the listed ingredients, media and e-commerce website Brit + Co broke down the cost of each item and found out you’ll be spending at least $250 AUD on this smoothie.

The costly drink contains:


  • Vanilla mushroom protein powder $45

  • Moon Juice Dust $70-$85

  • Maca $35

  • Ashwagandha $22

  • Ho Shou Wu $25

  • Cordyceps $47

According to Moon Juice, an organic online store that sells cordyceps, it is a fungus that boosts your immunity, strength, stamina and energy.

Paltrow's smoothie seems like no ordinary, 'just add protein powder' kinda smoothie. In fact some of the ingredients aren’t even available in specialty health food stores they're that strange.

With all the inexpensive smoothie recipes out there, we don’t think we’ll be rushing to make GP’s Morning “Smoothie,” any time soon. But this chocolate nut smoothie sure does look good!

To Paltrow's smoothie, she recommends adding Action Dust “to soothe overworked muscles,”Beauty Dust “for a glowy complexion and healthy hair,” and Brain Dust “to combat mental fogginess.”

And here we were thinking fairy dust was only a fictional thing from fantasy tales...

It’s hard to believe she told Refinery29, that this is “an extremely basic version,” of her regular morning smoothie.
