Taureans and Geminis can now add healthy to their list of personality traits.

People born in the month of May have the lowest risk for overall disease, according to new research.

Columbia University scientists came up with an algorithm to identify “specific associations” between the time of year a person is born and 55 different diseases, including asthma, heart disease and ADHD.

The study, published in the Journal of American Medical Informatics Association found that people who were born in May had the lowest overall risk, while October babies have the highest risk.

Looking at more than 1600 diseases, and 1.7 million patients treated over a 28-year period, researchers confirmed 39 connections between disease risk and birth month, and 16 new ones. Among the finings, October and July babies had the highest risk of asthma, and those born in November were at higher risk of ADHD.

While the results are surprising, researchers urge people born in October not to fret. “It’s important not to get overly nervous about these results because even though we found significant associations the overall disease risk is not that great,” Nicholas Tatonetti, the study’s senior author and an assistant professor at Columbia University Medical Center told Time. “The risk related to birth month is relatively minor when compared to more influential variables like diet and exercise.”

Bottom line: nothing is set in stone. Making healthy lifestyle choices is going to have a far greater impact on your health than the month you’re born in.
