A mid-air romance: Woman reaches out to airline’s Twitter to help find her ‘future husband’

It seems like a 90s rom-com, but New Yorker Erica Domesek proved that meeting your true love does not only happen in movies.

After hitting it off with a handsome stranger she sat beside on a flight travelling from Dallas to Calgary, Canada, Erica Domesek instantly feel in love. But it was once they parted ways that she realised she forgot to get his contact details.

So Domesek, unable to get him out of her head, decided to turn to the airline’s Twitter to publicly announce her infatuation and hopefully get the digits she failed to ask during their “mid-air” romance.

“Dear @AmericanAir: just got off my flight with my future husband, but didn't catch his full name. Wanna be match maker #flight1037.” She tweeted. But the airline wasn’t much help in Domesek’s love pursuit, simply replying, "We hope your paths cross again."

Not giving up on her quest to find her possible true love, she insisted that American Airlines give a hopeless romantic a break: “@AmericanAir what happened 2 romance? I'm just a girl, standin in front of the world, asking an airline to help her (2 quote Nottingham Hill),” she wrote.

Unfortunately, the airline was unable to divulge passenger information but asked Domesek if she had something else in mind for them to help her get a “Happily Ever After”. Determined more than ever, Domesek suggested the airline contact him: “He's a lovely man & would be excited to hear about my grand gesture you're helping with #romance." Again, this wasn’t something the airline could do but suggested that Domesek profess her romance online and hope that her mystery man replies.

Domesek began tweeting out the man's description and was soon backed by her followers in the quest to #FindClauco: “@AmericanAir he was sitting in the front row first class wearing a blue sweater, his name is Clauco. He was born in Torino & lives in soho.”

Followers were eating up this modern day ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ romance, where a person said that she’d take on board this love story pursuit for future reference: "Because of @psimadethis, I am forever using Twitter to tweet companies about their hot customers in hopes of meeting them. You are genius," tweeted Allie.

When the trail seemed cold as to whether Domesek would #FindClauco, it was one of her friends that found her mystery man, later tweeting that she was "grateful to Flight1073, my @SamsungMobileUS watch (w/ his photo) & friend I saw @ Apple store who knew him xo."

It was happy ending to a modern day love story but followers of the #FindClauco campaign are still dying for the details: “Ok @psimadethis, now that the #FindClauco search has come to an end & you found him, we NEED an update please!! Sending U both #love dust!” said Lizza.

Domesek has sadly been holding back on further commenting despite the Twitterverse rallying behind her to get her “happily ever after”. But if the pair eventually do walk down the aisle, Domesek promised American Airlines that on their honeymoon they would only fly with the match-making airline as a thank you.
