Woman creates horrible dating profile, gets 150 messages in 24 hours

American comedian and writer Alli Reed set out to prove there is a limit to what men will accept from even the most gorgeous women.

She set up a fake online profile on dating site OkCupid and created a profile of the most "abhorrent" woman she could conjure. Racist? Tick. Ignorant and xenophobic? Tick. Rude, callous, shallow and stupid? Tick. Tick. Tick.

She also described herself as someone who was really good at "convincing people im pregnat lol"[sic], a regular drug taker, drinker and unemployed.

While she was at it, she used the photo of a beautiful friend (and Australian model) Rae Johnston to complete the profile which had the moniker, AaronCarterFan. And then, she waited.

"I got the feeling that a lot of men on that site would message literally any woman who had a profile, but the optimist in me wanted to believe that there was a limit. Maybe there was a woman so awful, so toxic, so irredeemably unlikeable that no one would message her, or if they did, at least they would realize they never, ever wanted to meet her," she wrote on Cracked.

She was wrong.

Despite her optimism - and allowing for a handful of men who'd overlook a profile in favour for looks alone - even she didn't expect the deluge of messages the fake profile received in response to her ridiculous, racist and even nonsensical comments. To be exact? 150 in the first 24 hours.

Her next goal was to see if dialing up the horrible would stop these men messaging her back. She wrote to one about how fun it was to bully teenagers and to another of faking pregnancy:

"...i fake bein pregnant so much that im like amazing at it....ppl will give u whatever u want if they think ur pregnat SPECIALLY if they think there the dad, omg lol"

"I hope you don't use that trick on me LOL...Would you like to meet up?" came the response.

Next, she implemented the "she will ruin your life" phase, where she went to great lengths to show that the consequences of "contact with this woman were devastating and permanent".

She offered to tattoo men and pull their teeth out.

Still, no let up.

Finally, 500 messages later, she just wrote nonsense, asking men questions like "whats ur fav beanie baby".

Despite this, Reed is still optimistic and pleads with men to aim higher: "You are better than this. I know many of you would never message AaronCarterFan, but many of you would, and a whole bunch of you did. You're better than that. There are women and men out there who are smart, and kind, and challenging, and honest, and a lot of other really positive adjectives. You don't want someone who will pull out your teeth and then sue you for child support; you deserve someone who will make you want to be better than you are, and will want to be better because of you."
