My Morning Routine: Hayden Quinn

5:54 am Wake, my room is super light, so I am pretty much up with the sun most mornings but for some reason of late I have been waking at 5:54 am on the dot.

6:00 am Turn my phone off airplane mode and have a little look...

6:02 am - This is where i get into my teeth brushing routine. I start with the brush and tooth paste, spit all that out, then rinse, then i get a hold of my copper tongue scraper and do my tongue scraping (this is an ancient Ayurvedic practice which helps remove a lot of the nasties which build up on the surface of our tongue during the night), then I rinse again and then do oil pulling for 20 minutes.

6:10 am Generally while I am going for the oil pulling (I use coconut oil and, again, this is a traditional Ayurvedic practice for oral health) I jump on my bike and ride down to the beach.

6:15 am The first fitness activity of the day. I mix it up a lot, from swims, runs, yoga, to gym sets at The Cube Gym. But recently, and particularly in summer, I have been getting into a little routine of walking around to Shelly Beach and then swimming back to Manly beach from there. Once I get back to Manly I dump my fins and goggles and run hard up to the first pipe - about 500 metres - and back.

7:00 am After a little movement i like to just sit down on the sea wall at the beach and soak in a bit of sun and watch the people go past doing their thing. I then get back on my bike and head home to get some fuel in the engine

7:15 am Breakfast! I’m all about getting some eggs and lots of greens into me in the morning. My favourite combo is generally sliced up zucchini sautéd with a little pesto and then three lightly whisked eggs (with a little water added - it makes them nice and light) all mixed and mashed together, topped with lemon juice, olive oil, parmesan cheese and a serious grind of pepper. While I’m in the kitchen i get my other food ready for the day; at the start of each week i generally prep up different "stuff" to make into lunches and morning snacks, so I throw all my bits into their container for the day.

7:50 am - Before i head off to get into the "work" day, i try and fit in a little study for my Cert IV in Fitness which I am doing at the Australian Institute of Fitness. I do it online which makes it nice and easy for me. It's fun being back learning and nice and stimulating - plus, continued learning is so important when it comes to health and fitness.

9:00 am I generally get into the office about now and go through the classic routine of morning email responses - boring! The best thing about this time is my Game of Thrones tea mug which I have my Rooibos tea in.

10:30 am- I have my first mid-morning snack about now. Generally it is some pole and line caught canned tuna, with broccoli and beans, kale, chili, garlic, olive oil and apple cider vinegar. I try to drink as much water as i can during the day, plus i am seriously addicted to "fizzy water".

10:30 am - 12:00 pm I wish i could say I go off and do something amazing right now but on a general day where things need to get done, I am stuck behind the computer like most people! I’m working on all sorts of different projects, ranging from content for my YouTube series UNREFINED and Baking with Nutorious, then there is the gym, The Cube Gym, and making sure that all our peeps and team members are happy and things are running smoothly.
