HBO’s Dream On Is Streaming for the Very First Time — Find Out Where

Nearly 30 years since its series finale, and a quarter century since it last saw the light of day, HBO’s Dream On is at last available to stream.

All six seasons of the beloved sitcom have quietly surfaced on the ad-supported Roku Channel, which is accessible via the Roku app and TheRokuChannel.com — free of charge.

Co-created by Marta Kauffman and David Crane (Friends), Dream On centered on divorced New York City book editor Martin Tupper (played by Private Practice’s Brian Benben). The show famously interjected clips from old black-and-white TV shows to better illustrate Tupper’s thoughts and feelings. Wendie Malick (Just Shoot Me), Chris Demetral (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), Dorien Wilson (The Parkers), Denny Dillon (Women in Prison), Michael McKean (Better Call Saul) and Renée Taylor (The Nanny) co-starred.

The series first premiered on July 8, 1990, and ended March 27, 1996. All told, 120 episodes were produced. After it ended, a sanitized version of the show, minus the language and nudity, aired in syndication on Comedy Central — but only until 1999. Meanwhile, only the first two seasons have been released on DVD.
