Katie Price's son Harvey asks fans to vote for him to win a National Television Award

Katie Price’s son Harvey has asked his fans to vote for him to win a National Television Award.

The 19-year-old and his reality star mother won huge praise for their BBC documentary Katie Price: Harvey & Me, which has now been shortlisted in the new category of Authored Documentary at the 2021 awards which take place on 9 September.

The NTAs are voted for by the public and Harvey shared a video with his 323k Instagram followers asking: "Harvey to vote for NTAs!"

The clip on his Instagram Stories, filmed by Price's fiance Carl Woods is captioned "Vote Harvey And Me please guys."

Price commented on her own Instagram account: "We've made the shortlist!! I can't believe it!! Get your final votes in now!!!"

The documentary, which aired in January this year, highlighted the close relationship between model Price and her eldest son as they hunted for a suitable residential college for him to attend.

The NTAs usually take place in January but were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and will now take place in September, hosted by Joel Dommett.

Harvey & Me is nominated for the new award which was introduced following a wave of celebrity-led factual programmes.

Also shortlisted are Kate Garraway, for her poignant look at how the pandemic ravaged her family in Finding Derek and Manchester United and England footballer Marcus Rashford for BBC show Feeding Britain’s Children, about the star’s campaign for free school meals. Other nominees include Rob Burrow: My Year With MND; and Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency.

Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, partial blindness and had severe autism.

Price has often talked about the struggles of raising her son.

His dad is footballer Dwight Yorke, 49, who had a brief relationship with Price but initially denied he was his father and demanded a paternity test.

Harvey's trainspotting hobby was revealed in BBC documentary and as a result the BBC have offered him the chance to front his very own series, visiting famous railways around the UK.

Price told Community Living magazine: "On the back of it, the BBC have offered Harvey and his friend Zack an eight-part series on trains and automobiles.

"I am not interested in bloody trains. Me and Jeanette [Zack’s mother] will be sitting there having our tea and sandwiches saying, ‘What are we bloody doing here on a train station?’ But, as long as they are happy, that’s what matters.”
