It looks like the Sussexes loved one of the gifts they received during their royal tour to Australia back in 2018, with the latest photo of baby Archie during their Canadian holiday featuring a sweet nod to the trip.
Archie can be seen wearing the tiny pair of Ugg boots Prince Harry and Meghan were given in Sydney within hours of the world finding out they were expecting their first child.
Australian Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove presented the couple with the boots on the first day of the royal tour, and at the time Harry seemed super excited about them.
And in another tribute to our closest neighbours, Archie’s beanie is from Make Give Live, a social enterprise founded by mum Claire Conza that runs community-based knitting groups in New Zealand.
For each item purchased, one is donated to a Kiwi in need. Meghan was gifted one of the hats during the couple’s visit to New Zealand during the same tour, although Meghan may had had to buy a bigger size by now herself.
Just hours after touching down in Sydney in October 2018, Kensington Palace released a statement announcing the happy news Harry and Meghan were expecting their first child.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the palace said in statement on Twitter.
A lot has happened since then, especially this year, after they welcomed baby Archie in May.
The couple shared a video reflecting on the royal family’s biggest milestones of 2019.
“Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and thanking you for your continued support!” the accompanying message read.
“We’ve loved meeting so many of you from around the world and can’t wait to meet many more of you next year. We hope 2020 brings each of you health and continued happiness.”
The video includes photos and video footage from their public appearances, charitable work and travels to destinations like South Africa, as well as personal moments like Archie’s birth, official debut and baptism.
Beyoncé, whom the couple met at the Lion King premiere, also got a shout-out, as did sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who joined Meghan at Wimbledon this summer.
