Hallmark Fans, the Network Announced Its First-Ever Dating Show

Since Hallmark is already known for its love of romance, it only makes sense they would venture into a new era of love on TV.

The network is famous for showcasing movies with unique love stories, with compelling journeys for how the fictional couples in the films get together. Well, Hallmark is taking their matchmaking skills to the world of reality TV with the premiere of its first-ever dating show.

Hosted by frequent Hallmark movie star Ashley Williams, the show is called Small Town Setup. All six episodes of season 1 are available to stream on Thursday, January 2, 2025 on Hallmark+. Hallmark previously gave a sneak preview of the series, thanks to a teaser trailer posted on Instagram on January 1.

"What would you do if your entire family and your hometown set you up to find love?" Williams teases in the trailer. "You're about to find out."

Naturally, fans were excited to see Hallmark continue their passion for romance by taking their content into a brand-new direction.

"So fun! Can’t wait to watch!!" one person wrote in the comments. "This looks so good! Ashley is the perfect host for this!! 😍❤️," another declared. "Please get me on that show I need to find my prince charming!!! 😅😭😭❤️❤️," a different follower added.

So, what exactly is the concept for Small Town Setup? According to People, the show will focus on different small town parents looking to set up their adult children who have built successful lives in everything but the love department. When the kids come back to their hometowns, they will go on three dates with people that have been selected with the help of friends, family and neighbors. At the end of each episode, viewers will get to see if love truly blossoms in the most wholesome way possible.

Small Town Setup isn't Hallmark's first venture into the reality TV space. Back in October, folks got to see 10 actors vie for the chance to star in a holiday movie and become Hallmark's next leading man in Finding Mr. Christmas. The winner was Ezra Moreland, and he starred in Happy Howlidays as part of Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas"2024 programming event in December.
