Gwyneth Paltrow Just Re-Wore Her Iconic Pink 1999 Oscars Gown
The gift that keeps on giving.
Christmas may still be several weeks away, but Gwyneth Paltrow just gave us the ultimate gift. On Friday, the actress debuted a very festive holiday goop ad that featured one very stylish fashion Easter egg: her pink Ralph Lauren gown from the 1999 Academy Awards.
Known for capturing the hearts of fashion lovers everywhere when Paltrow wore it to accept the Best Actress award for Shakespeare in Love, the pastel pink gown made a guest appearance on Instagram in honor of goop’s latest holiday campaign. In the clip, the actress slipped back into the dreamy dress — which featured a subtle sweetheart neckline, tiny spaghetti straps, and a full skirt, lest you forget — for the first time in over two decades while drinking Champagne, unboxing goop goodies, and dabbing on bright red blush.
A diamond choker necklace and matching drop earrings accessorized the pink dress, and Gwyneth even recreated her glam from the 1999 awards ceremony, too, by pulling her blonde hair up into a sleek, side-parted bun and finishing with bright pink lips and feathered lashes.
“You’ve been nominated for Best Gift Giver. Shop goop’s holiday gift guides,” slides in the video read, with the caption adding, “Everyone's a winner with our goop gift guides. Link in bio to shop. #goopGiftGuides”
The lifestyle brand’s post came just days after Paltrow recreated even more of her most iconic looks in a separate goop video.
In a video shared to goop’s Instagram on Tuesday, the A-lister walked into a dinner party to a table full of Gwyneths dressed in various outfits — including one smoking a cigarette in a brown fur coat to represent her character from The Royal Tenenbaums. Additional Gwyneths posed in a blue satin button-down shirt, a pickleball-ready two-piece set, and a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
