Gwyneth Paltrow has just shared some very intriguing details about her upcoming film with Timothée Chalamet. Marty Supreme, directed by Uncut Gems' s Josh Safdie, the 1950s-set film stars Chalamet as a hustler-turned-Ping Pong champion and Paltrow as his older love interest. "They meet and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional for them both,” Paltrow said to Vanity Fair of their affair in the film. And apparently, they have lots and lots of sex scenes.
“I mean, we have a lot of sex in this movie,” she said, adding, “There’s a lot—a lot.”
The interviewer questioned, “So…you’re in a lot of vulnerable positions with him?”
She replied simply, “Beyond.”

Paltrow considers Marty Supreme to be her first major acting project since 2010's Country Strong. Returning to the industry 15 years later, Paltrow has been surprised to see how much things have changed.
“There’s now something called an intimacy coordinator, which I did not know existed,” she said. “I was like, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you get naked, you get in bed, the camera’s on.’"
Paltrow added that in some instances, she prefers to keep the scenes simple without too much input from the intimacy co-ordinator.

“We said, ‘I think we’re good. You can step a little bit back,’” Paltrow said of filming the scenes. “I don’t know how it is for kids who are starting out, but…if someone is like, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here’ I would feel, as an artist, very stifled by that.”
Although Paltrow was comfortable working without too much hands-on input from the intimacy co-ordinator, she was hyper aware of the age gap. “I was like, ‘Okay, great. I’m 109 years old. You’re 14,’” she joked.
Nevertheless, Paltrow loved working with Chalamet. “He’s such a thinking man’s sex symbol,” she said. “He’s just a very polite, properly raised, I was going to say kid...He’s a man who takes his work really seriously and is a fun partner.”

Paltrow and Chalamet were spotted filming an intimate kissing scene in New York City's Central Park scene last year.
According to a source who spoke to the Daily Mail at the time, Paltrow initially considered taking on the project thanks to her daughter, Apple. “As soon as Gwyneth told Apple that Timothée is not only a producer but also the lead actor, she pleaded with her mom to accept," said the source. “After reading it and loving it, despite having no major wish to act right now, she was convinced by Apple, who intends to be on set as much as possible.”
Last month, Paltrow moderated a talk with Chalamet and the cast of his film A Complete Unknown.
